Additionally, based on some comments posted after my recent article which encouraged readers to visit breakingthesilence.org, and view the 2014 documentary, Born in Gaza (currently on Netflix), I want to reiterate the point made by Dr. Mate, Dr. Reizer, and millions of others: Not all Jews are Zionists!
For anyone to ever believe that God would “give” a country (?!) to a certain group of people, based on their beliefs — as one commenter contends is what occurred — is beyond ludicrous! Further, for anyone to believe God would give a country to a group of people whom He knew — and He being an all-knowing God, if you’re a Believer, as I am, would have known — were going to have hate permeate the minds, and actions, of those to whom He had supposedly given the land, and that they would persistently, decade after decade, without shame or regret, slaughter innocent men, women and children is beyond comprehension.
And for anyone who can justify intentional starvation, intentional thirst, forced imprisonment, and forcing others to live in fear in the land in which they were born and raised based on what you have read in your Bible, perhaps it’s time for a new Bible. I have scoured my own and nowhere does it, or God, state such things.
The message of the Holy Bible is about love and peace, loving your neighbor as yourself. If your translated Bible says otherwise, you have been misled.

I’m sorry that Linda has decided to end her subscription to this page in this manner. Unable to unsubscribe herself… I find that unlikely. I believe it’s a way for her to rub it in your face that she intends to leave and to force you to do it. It’s a shame she will miss out on any and all future truths.
As for the conflict itself, the way that attack happened does seem highly suspect.
Nobody (here) is saying that the attack and kidnappings (murder death kill) were a good and honorable act. It obviously is not! These people have been at war with each other for a very long time. Even in a time of supposed peace, there are members on one or both sides who plan for more killing. And now, thoughts go toward revengeful retaliation. When will it end?

Yes, I agree completely with you, Renfro, and with Dr. Reizer.
There are atrocities occurring against individuals in both Israel and Palestine, and it must stop. My point, and I think the point of most anyone who speaks out regarding the atrocities in Gaza (which protest does NOT equal condoning actions by Hamas, antisemitism, or lack of sympathy for innocent, injured Israelis) is simply that there needs to be a better way. Under no circumstances should innocent men, women and children be forced to suffer, or die, due to the actions of extremists or the reactions of their enemies, or oppressors.
Regardless of how or why Hamas did what they did, innocent civilians, already long oppressed, living without freedom, and living every day in fear, should not be the targets of cruel, sadistic retaliation.
Five hospitals have had to close, and the patients therein died awaiting help. Morphine has run out forcing civilians to have to endure surgeries without painkillers. Fuel is being withheld, clean water is being withheld, and on and on.
There is no justification for this. It is cruel and inhumane. Period.

Thanks for sharing, Renfro! I should have expressed myself better in my reply to Linda. Unfortunately, my head is in other places at the moment.
I didn’t mean to imply that there weren’t human atrocities happening in Israel. I don’t believe the reports Linda has received are false. I believe them to be authentic. But they and all other atrocities occurring there result from the illegal occupation of Palestine by the State of Israel, in my opinion.

I agree with Linda that innocent Israeli people are subjected to terrible atrocities at the hands of Hamas. I agree that these horrible events are happening presently. Linda claims that she knows people living in Israel, confirming the attacks. I one hundred percent believe her.
What Linda and others like her fail to realize is that those atrocities have been happening to the Palestinian people as well for decades and that all people who are living in the region are suffering terribly because of the illegal occupation of Palestine by the Zionist Israeli government.
People justify Israel’s occupation of Palestine by the misinterpretation of biblical scriptures. It is a ridiculous claim, and the agenda has been promoted by the Zionists, who have hijacked Judaism and the Jewish religion for political reasons.
When the illegality of the occupation is pointed out, people who side with Israel claim antisemitism is taking place. Additionally, people will take the stance that they can never side against Israel because it goes against the teachings of their Bible. This is why religion can be dangerous. In some instances, it can legitimize in the minds of many horrible crimes against humanity, as is the case in Palestine.

I feel sorry for both the innocent Israeli and Palestinian people who have been tortured, raped, and lost their lives because of the illegal occupation of Palestine by the criminal Zionist State of Israel.
