I have been intending to write this article for my fellow authors for a while

By John Reizer

Life as a writer is quite challenging and at times can be frustrating, to say the least. Writing, for one, can be a lonely existence because you spend a lot of your time with only your innermost thoughts trying to assemble them onto paper or an electronic computer screen these days.

But writing can also be a rewarding experience. I have found that the more I write, the more creative I am. It’s a fantastic process that gives back to me in many instances twofold of what I put out into the world in terms of creative energy.

I’ve been working on improving my writing skills since I was twelve years old, and the process of self-improvement has been ongoing. I believe that to become proficient in anything requires a lot of dedication and hard work.

Writing content, getting it published, and, last but not least, selling your work are three distinct things. The first two are not as challenging to accomplish as the last, in my view.

Once an author creates something they believe is of high quality and worthy of public exposure, they must decide whether to publish or not.

That brings me to the main point of this post, which is whether authors should self-publish or traditionally publish their works.

But before we dive into that can of worms, read the following article I came across:

Now that you’ve read the article above, here’s my two cents on publishing:

My Experiences with Publishing

Dr. John Reizer

Since the release of the Target List movie, I’ve had several writers contact me and ask for advice on writing and publishing fiction and nonfiction.

These authors wanted to know if it’s better to self-publish or traditionally publish their manuscripts.

Throughout my writing career, I have authored over twenty books, including both nonfiction and fiction titles. None of my published books has been traditionally published. However, I was offered a contract to publish my book Waist Away by a traditional publisher in 2007, which I declined because the terms offered didn’t make financial sense to me.

As you will discover in the above-reposted article, most traditionally published novels don’t sell many copies. According to some of the sources I have researched, hundreds rather than thousands of books sold is more the rule than the exception.

I have known for many years that the most challenging part of the book-writing business is not authoring the content; it’s marketing and selling books, which isn’t easy.

When I briefly negotiated with a traditional publisher in 2007, the company inquired about my social contacts, the organizations I belonged to, and my marketing plan for the future publication. They wanted to pay me a paltry percentage and have me do all the work while taking most of the profits. I reasoned that it would be foolish to agree to such a deal and published the manuscript myself.

From that point forward, I’ve been self-publishing everything I have authored.

Three of my novels have sold under 50 copies, others several hundred, and a few have sold a lot more than many traditionally published books, for sure.

Three of my nonfiction chiropractic books have sold thousands of copies over the many years they have been available. But some of those books were purchased in bulk by chiropractic colleges in the US when I was working as an associate professor of clinical sciences and brokered deals with different college bookstores.

My novel The Target List is my most successful story. I self-published that book in 2019. The story gained most of its exposure, however, when I met the screenwriter and molecular biologist, MJ Palo, and we co-wrote the screenplay for the story, convincing Mad Wife Productions to adapt it into a feature film. We estimate that several million people have watched the movie.

In my view, self-publishing is the most suitable option for my situation because it allows me to have my books printed when I want them released and receive higher royalties.

For others, self-publishing their books might not be a great fit. For some, traditionally publishing a book might be a better option. I believe that both avenues can work, but keep in mind that, whether through traditional publishing or self-publishing, earning a living as a writer of books and articles is not an easy road by any stretch of the imagination.

I hope this information is helpful to aspiring writers who are trying to publish their work moving forward.

The best advice I can offer to new writers is to write content, whether fiction or nonfiction, every single day. The more you write, the better you will become at your craft!

And then there’s this multi-decade-old lie that most of society continues to swallow hook, line, and sinker!

Are You Kidding Me? 🤣

Bombs Away!

The absolute truth is that the nuclear weapons narrative is a complete bunch of baloney, just as the space travel accomplishments are. Neither of the alleged technologies is real! Additionally, numerous other scientific claims are equally nonsensical.

They’ve been lying to us all for so long that we’re unable to recognize bullshit when it’s shoved repeatedly in our collective face.

More CGI Space Nonsense

By Dr. John Reizer

Accordimg to officialdom, Blue Origin successfully landed the booster of its New Glenn rocket on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean during its second-ever launch on November 13, 2025.

This was the first time the booster was recovered for reuse, following the first launch in January 2025 where the booster was not recovered. The mission also successfully delivered NASA’s twin ESCAPADE spacecraft to orbit.

Are You Kidding Me?

CGI videos, in my opinion!

Of course, this remarkable feat was done in the middle of the ocean, where only a guy with binoculars could film the landing.

There continues to be an incredible push by the mainstream media to inundate the public domain with a plethora of space travel news, which alleges that aerospace accomplishments are occurring nearly every single day.

These stories are unending, making it seem as if humankind is regularly making great strides in its ongoing attempts to travel through deep space to visit celestial bodies like our Moon and Mars.

Folks, these so-called accomplishments are predicated, in my opinion, on science fiction scripts and aided with CGI and VFX.

No one, whether operating through a government agency or a privately owned company, is exempt from being locked inside our artificial construct, which prevents them from visiting anywhere. No one went into outer space in the 1960s and 70s, and no one’s doing it today or tomorrow because it’s impossible.

In my view, what is possible for NASA and other private space companies to accomplish, given a bottomless drawer of billions of dollars in funding, is the creation of amazing-looking CGI videos that beggar belief. The photographic and video fakery is so sophisticated at this point that these privatized companies and government agencies, working in concert, are now brazen enough to try to use these technologies to convince humanity that actual space travel has been occurring for decades.

My Two Cents!

In my opinion, this is the work of a whistleblower(s) because any company or individual discarding human “cremains” would have never left them in neat, recognizable piles unless that person wanted the authorities to investigate something much bigger.

The Missing

Where death is just the beginning.

In the heart of a quiet town lies Evergreen Cemetery—an eerie resting place where no bodies are buried, only empty caskets, each holding a dark secret.

Beneath the surface of this unassuming plot of land is a twisted conspiracy engineered by Trucient Industries, a powerful biomedical corporation with a terrifying agenda.

Official Book Trailer

Trucient’s public mission statement is simple enough: freeze the dead and revive them in the future through cryonics. But the truth is far different. Behind the benevolent façade of preserving life, Trucient is secretly harvesting organs from the homeless, the forgotten, and society’s outcasts, selling them to the highest bidder. But that’s only the beginning. Their true, audacious goal is to map the human brain, digitize it, and create a fully conscious artificial intelligence that could reshape humanity.

Evergreen Cemetery: My Inspiration for The Missing Novella

Dr. John Reizer

As a young boy growing up in Lakewood, New Jersey, in the 1960s and 1970s, I had a pretty amazing childhood. I was fortunate to have picked some great parents for this incarnation.

I grew up in a town filled with pine trees, a community where the wealthy elites like Rockefeller and Gould held estates.

My grandmother used to take me regularly to play on the Rockefeller property, which was converted into Ocean County Park years later. She would tell me how great a man John D. Rockefeller was.

Well, NANA, as it turns out, old Rocky might have been part lizard and not such a great role model after all. 🤣 But I did enjoy my time there with you, swinging on the swings and feeding bread to all the ducks.

What frightened me the most in my early childhood was the cemetery that loomed at the end of the dead-end street I grew up on.

I remember it well. I often rode my bike up there with my three closest early childhood friends, the Auerbach girls: Ginny, Donna, and Dee. We lived on Spruce Street, a long, wooded stretch of asphalt that led to the entranceway of Evergreen Cemetery.

I convinced those three girls on many occasions to play endless hours of baseball, basketball, football, and kickball games with me. When you’re a young boy growing up on a street where the only kids your age are girls, your best friends become girls. And make no mistake about it, they were my best friends.

We also liked to ride our bicycles up to the creepy iron gates that led into Evergreen Cemetery.

Evergreen Cemetery

I can’t remember how often we went to that cemetery during my childhood, sometimes on bikes and sometimes on foot, but I know it was often.

Many times, we would walk into the woods to bypass the iron gates at the property’s entrance and venture up the long, stony hill leading to the gravesites.

From the highest point of the cemetery, you could see for many miles. And if you stood on one of the tallest gravestones at the back of the property, you could see the Atlantic Ocean. At least, that’s what the neighborhood kids believed.

I spent many days in my early childhood thinking about that cemetery property and have fond memories growing up there on Spruce Street.

Looking back on it all brings a smile to my face. It was a special time when electronic devices were not around distracting you from the more important things in your life, like breaking into a private cemetery.

My latest novella, THE MISSING, is partly inspired by those amazing times in my early childhood. I spent more than a few Halloween evenings inside Evergreen Cemetery looking for ghosts and other strange phenomena with those Auerbach girls. I miss them and all the great times we shared.

After returning home from winning the 1975 Little League Baseball World Series, the neighbors on Spruce Street hung a sign and posed for a picture with me. Donna and Dee are just to my right, and Ginny Auerbach is pictured crouching on the left in front.
