The voluminous garbage generated by humans seems to be partly from our obsession with packaging and expiration dates. I have what seems like perfectly fine oatmeal, for example, but the expiration date is from sometime last year. I had some this morning and it tasted fine, but I was already thinking about ordering more from Costco. This is for two people! Maybe next time I should get some at Albertsons but I will pay a lot more to get much less! Aldi to the rescue? 🙂

As for settling differences, I think what makes us humans different from the rest is our tendency to form and rely on governments. Trouble is, has any government ever provided a useful service efficiently? And unfortunately as these governments acquire or obtain power, they can also become bought and sold, ultimately ending up with unexpected new masters. In accepting these governments, we are essentially outsourcing inconveniences perhaps, but also responsibilities! So there’s little accountability at each level.

Which is why in the past, we’d march our men off to fight in wars we don’t know why we are fighting! There’s a reason. Someone is benefitting. Who’s running the show?

…or we see a landfill like the one in the photo. No one questioned things enough along the way and the garbage had to go somewhere.

We were taught in school that clans of apes have brutally attacked other clans of apes, for no clear reason. Is this true? I figured at the time, perhaps it was because we were supposedly descendants of apes, thus reinforcing our tendency toward violence. But maybe someone just WANTED us to think this way?

There are some things that make you wonder who the real beasts are in this world, John?

Humans have the powers of thought and reason, but those attributes seem to become thrown off balance at times. We are susceptible to being manipulated and brainwashed by evil.

And are humans born with good or evil instincts? We are influenced by our surroundings to be a certain way. But are we innately good? It’s hard to tell sometimes.

However, I do believe in the soul and that it
comes from a positive light in the universe. But humans are continuously being challenged from the day they are born.

And although I believe that all creatures have a soul, animals don’t have that power of reason that challenge the inborn light like we humans do.

So, although human intelligence appears to be an advantage, maybe it is sometimes our downfall.

Just a few thoughts from me, John, after just waking up this morning! It’s an hour earlier where I live. You got me doing such deep thinking. And I am not really totally awake yet! 🤣

    Lisa
