My wife told me a joke that she recently came across on a social media platform. I thought it was quite funny and very appropriate considering how life in The Matrix is going these days.

Here’s my written version of the humor:

So, this couple is cuddling in bed. The lights are out and only the faintest glow and flicker from an exhausted arrangement of scented candles, at their wick’s end, is visible and casting a shadowy silhouette of the lovers on the bedroom wall.

“Baby, I have a confession to make,” the woman says softly breaking the silence.

Fearing the worst news imaginable, the man turns towards his partner and asks, “Oh my God, what?”

There’s a moment or two that passes before the woman confesses. “Michael, I, I used to be a — Christian.”

The relief in Michael’s mind is expressed through a long-drawn-out exhale followed by some reassuring words. “It’s okay, honey, I don’t have a problem with that.”

As the candles finally run their course and the silhouette on the wall is replaced with total darkness, the woman turns towards the man and says, “I am very happy to hear you say that because I much prefer being a — Christina!”
