Dr. John Reizer
September 18th is the birthday of chiropractic. In 1895, Daniel David Palmer made the first chiropractic adjustment on a deaf janitor, Harvey Lillard.
I have been a chiropractor for 34 years, more than half my life. It’s been a heck of a ride and a rewarding career.
Chiropractic has allowed me to help countless people through the years have a better expression of health. Additionally, the profession has allowed me to be an educator, author, and practitioner of healthcare, and being a chiropractor has helped me to understand that most people in society have no idea what true health is.
I was most fortunate to attend one of the best chiropractic schools in the world, Sherman College. Later in my career, I joined the faculty there and became an associate professor of clinical sciences for twelve years.
I owe my exceptional understanding of health and biology to that institution and the many dedicated professors who played an integral role in my becoming a doctor of chiropractic.
Happy birthday, chiropractic!
