You know you’re controversial when the flat Earthers withdraw your speaking invitation to their fall festival

Dr. John Reizer

Spartanburg,  SC – I was so excited two weeks ago when I was invited to speak at the largest Flat Earth Festival in the Realm. It’s being held in Spartanburg, SC, later this fall.

I figured this was excellent timing, and I could do a two-hour talk on flat Earth and Old-World Research. It would also be a perfect opportunity to promote our new book and get the word out to an audience likely to be receptive to that subject matter.

So, I received an email today in reply to a topic request I submitted earlier that detailed what my talk would be all about.

To make a long story short, the Flat Earth Festival people withdrew my invitation to speak at their venue because they didn’t want attendees subjected to Old-World Research nonsense.

Only Yours Truly could get banned from a Flat Earth Festival in his hometown! 😂

I was completely shocked by the decision and asked for clarity on their sudden change of heart.

The festival replied by sending me another email containing six or seven YouTube videos debunking Old-World Research findings. The email suggested I watch all of them and then come to my senses and abandon the nonsense I was writing about.

I had watched these and similar productions before. The videos are made by Shills financed or supported by a group looking to steer the flat Earther groups away from Old-World Exploration Research, in my opinion.

One guy is named Aewar and the other content creator goes by the handle Wooden Nickels. One of the claims made by these two was that the person who runs the My Lunch Break YouTube channel is either AI or a transgender person. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

The way they unsuccessfully attempt to debunk Old-World Research is to talk about how stupid the theory is while showing pictures allegedly taken in the late 1800s  of workers using rudimentary crane-like apparatuses and horses and wagons pulling payloads of bricks.

The other guy prefaces his remarks in one of his videos by stating that he hasn’t touched or addressed anything to do with Old-World Exploration Research for a long time. It’s because he doesn’t want to deal with the enormity of the evidence staring him in the face!

The video makers’ argument consistently comes down to them trying to convince viewers, and not very well I might add, that the basic technology of the late 1800s was sufficient to get all the buildings under suspicion of being built by another technologically advanced civilization, completed as the official narrative claims.

Even if you give Aewar and Wooden Nickels the benefit of the doubt about the 1890s crane technology and transportation capabilities,  they can’t explain the construction and successful raising of equally and more impressive structures realm-wide in the 1700s and earlier. I mean, what kind of technology was around, according to our historical narratives, when the Cologne Cathedral was built in the 1100s or at the Vatican? What about the massive Star Forts built realm-wide? Will they make the case that steam cranes and rudimentary technology made those structures as well?

The debunking attempts made through these collections of videos are frankly quite embarrassing. If you walked into a courtroom with that low level of evidence backing your defense of something, you would be dismissed by a judge in seconds.

It’s so frustrating to deal with some alternative-thinking groups. In many instances, they are very rigid in their positions and financially tied to a specific paradigm. In some cases, they are as bad and even worse to reason with than conventional nonthinkers who parrot officialdom.

Granted, many flat Earthers have embraced Old-World Research and understand the substantial amount of evidence proving its veracity.

I challenged the Flat Earth Festival people to a friendly debate at the Flatoberfest in Spartanburg regarding the debunking of our book’s central premise. I am still awaiting a reply, but not holding my breath. If I get anyone to accept my debate offer, I will let you all know.

    👍 Agreed!

    Indeed.

having hundreds of horsepower at one’s fingertips can quickly become an abuse of power. (“An abusive power,” is what my auto dictate thought I said. Lol)

    As the saying goes:

    “Power corrupts.”

    Further:

    “Absolute power corrupts, absolutely.”

Very true, Roark; not all Christians are flat Earthers, and not all flat Earthers are Christians.

I feel your pain on the highways. Some people’s personalities drastically change when they sit behind the steering wheel of an automobile. 🙂

Road rage is a real thing. People get so angry driving they have been known to get out of vehicles with guns and, in some cases, firing them!

    Absolutely John,

And remember, not all Christians are flat earthers either. In fact many aren’t.

And we all know how threatened peoples’ egos get when we rock their world. Speaking of rock, maybe conveying some concepts benefits from doing so via song, ie music! 🙂 😁

I was bullied on the weekend by a driver behind me who felt I wasn’t driving fast enough (not true). As he (I assume) was inches away from my rear bumper, I noticed a Huge cross hanging from his (?) rear view mirror. Hypocrite?

People will continue to baffle us, even our own family sometimes. There’s usually an explanation. It’s unfortunate when things cannot be discussed freely, calmly. Like negotiating the proper speed on a freeway junction!

Without the use of our hearts and minds, we can be the worst of animals.

Okay, Amy, that’s good information to know. I am feeling better this morning about losing that speaking opportunity yesterday.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 👍

Yes, I am familiar with that festival. It’s a money grab and way overpriced. They always have the same carnival of clowns speaking and running around, and it’s quite oppressive.

I am like you because I believe we are not living on a globe. I like your simulation concept and the notion of avatars. I have read the Michael Morris books and articles you have written. The Christian flat-earthers are going to choke and puke on your stuff. Their heads will spin 360 degrees after reading or hearing your thoughts.

I went to a few of their festivals, and it was not worth the price of admission. Be happy not to be associated with this group. Keep telling the truth!!!

Thanks for sharing that information, Amy! I take it you are familiar with the Flatoberfest people?

What you wrote is the same feeling I got when I attended their festival in 2022 in Greenville, SC.

The few speakers we listened to spoke about demons fighting with angels under the firmament, which went on for three hours. My wife and I left the presentations early and tried to converse with different vendors at the venue.

The entire place had a pretty heavy Christian vibe. I expected that environment beforehand, but I am cool with that. The problem is that I don’t believe these types of people are open to new ideas or evidence that veers away from their perspective, and I have a definite problem with that.

I go where the evidence takes me, not where a belief construct does. The evidence helps form my belief construct. The belief construct doesn’t create my evidence or influence what or what not I will consider in the way of evidence.

They didn’t want you to speak at the festival because that particular group of Flat Earthers is very Christian-minded, and your thoughts about how everything operates goes against what that group believes in. The woman’s name over there is Karen B, and for her and her audience, it’s not about the shape of the Earth; it’s about slaying demons and fitting flat earth ideas into their narrowly interpreted understanding of the Christian Bible. The people you mentioned that are old-world debunkers on YouTube are also very Christian, and they will try to debunk any ideas that go against their basic Christian premise.

This is the problem with many of the Flat Earther groups. They are aware of certain things but can’t make it past their core religious beliefs, and that’s why they are in many respects no better than the people who believe that the Earth is a spinning ball flying through the heavens.

Now that I think about it, it is pretty funny. I am not too worried about it, Lisa. It’s their loss, not mine. I already know the information, and I truly wanted a chance to share our work. I can’t believe I am getting censored again, though, and this time, it is by a group that’s always censored themselves. 🙂

Well, John, I think your getting banned as a conspiracy theorist in the the conspiracy theorist world is a great compliment. You are at the top of your game! 👍🙂

It’s mind-boggling, Lisa! This festival, I thought, had loose ties to Flat Earth Dave, who sponsors My Lunch Break’s YouTube channel. My Lunch Break always introduces Flat Earth Dave’s Flat Earth Internet app. If I am not mistaken, the woman who runs this festival has been on that platform with Dave. At least, I thought so. I may be incorrect about the two being aligned. Regardless, I am baffled by the response I received. But I will survive and live to fight another day or until I get tired of doing this work. 🙂

That’s flabbergasting, John! I can feel the frustration in your words. How excited you must have felt to be invited to speak, but then only to be disappointed a short time later by having that opportunity ripped away from you.

Here you have a group of people who you might think would be more open-minded and willing to listen, because I am sure that they have been attacked for their beliefs as well. But yet they have the gall to make a mockery about your claims and research about the Old World. And if you ask me, it all intertwines together.

It boggles my mind how people can believe horses and buggies were actually a part of constructing these massive majestic structures. And a don’t believe a few cranes to help would be sufficient either. It’s ridiculous!

But people will think and do as they see fit. Despite the evidence in front of them. They will see what they want to see.

But I hope that they do contact you back again, John, for that debate. However, yes, I wouldn’t hold your breath!

And what I wouldn’t give to be able to hear that speech or debate! 🙂

That’s a good one, Roark! I don’t believe you sent that one before. If you did, I missed it.

Thanks for sharing it again. 🙂👍

Did I send you this already?

I just stumbled onto it again.

    Hahaha! 😆

In all seriousness, I would welcome the opportunity to debate anyone on this subject. I love that environment and, as you know, have the experience, like yourself, to do those things.

Thanks for sharing, Dr. Kimberly! 👍

    Hi John,

People love their cliques don’t they? I treated myself to my own copy of The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. Remember that story?

I told you my folks would hardly talk to me when I let them know that I enjoyed Trump’s rallys, starting in 2015.

I had tried to tell them I liked Ron Paul before that, but the response was: he’s a little Weird.

My father has passed now and Mom still hasn’t learned a thing and still thinks she’s right (and wants to be more than many things, including having some quality time with her oldest son while we’re still around).

I’m grateful for your website and the chance to discuss interesting topics with other truth seekers.

    Thanks John!

John, if they are smart, they won’t agree to a debate with you on any subject. I would be willing to pay big money to see that massacre take place.

I was shocked, Kenneth! I attended this event a couple of years ago and was very excited to do a very cool presentation for them. I didn’t anticipate that sort of a response as I thought that the flat Earther groups were somewhat aligned in their thinking with the Old-World Research community. Oh well, there’s got to be someone besides my wife and daughter out there who would like me to speak. 🤣

    That’s unfortunate and quite sad.
