Target List – The One-Year Report Card

Dr. John Reizer

It’s been a little over a year since the official release of the feature film Target List. What’s going on behind the scenes with this movie, and more importantly, what’s the overall vibe of moviegoers watching what I believe is a significantly important motion picture?

When I first learned that Target List was going to be produced by Mad Wife Productions as a feature film, I was in a hospital bed, unable to stand up or walk, and recovering from some form of poisoning made to look like an upper respiratory illness.

One of the first things I did after regaining consciousness in the hospital was to send a text to my co-screenwriter, MJ Palo. I told her after learning our pilot film had been well received by a test audience, we needed to make the film.

So, if I seem a little obsessed over the movie and its critical underlying message to society,  please take into consideration that I literally risked my life to warn people about Big Pharma!

I have spent plenty of time writing many words on NoFakeNews about Target List. This insane marketing of a 100-minute movie began in 2021 and continues to this day with every posted article I author. Why would I do this much work? Because if I don’t do the job, who will? I have the platform and an audience that understands what’s at stake. If I can’t connect with people on NoFakeNews and get them to understand the importance of this film, then I won’t be able to convince anyone else.

I believe that Target List is being well-received by a significant audience. We compete against big-budget films with hundreds of millions of dollars behind their marketing campaigns. I think Hollywood buys reviews and ratings for many of its big productions. But that’s just my opinion after researching the movie industry over the past few years.

We can’t afford to buy ratings and reviews, so we must rely on people to honestly give their feedback about Target List on IMDb and, hopefully, other movie platforms.

There are plenty of people who love the movie and a segment of moviegoers who dislike the production.

If you have watched the film and you’re interested in helping us get Target List in front of the eyes of more people, please leave a positive rating and even a written review on IMDb, YouTube, or anywhere else you see the movie playing.

I can’t express enough how vital this film and its underlying message are to the members of society.

I believe some people are trying to prevent positive attention from coming to our movie because it paints big pharma negatively. Let’s not let the haters succeed now or in the future. Won’t you please help us out?

Critical Reviews

“Rachel Alig is terrific as Donna while Justin Ray as Clyde also manages to impress. Combining witty commentary with a constant threat to life, script writers Palo and Reizer develop a narrative that is funny and charming while ensuring that none of the thrill and danger is lost in the process.”

– INDIE WRAP MAGAZINE

“Drama, thrills, comedy and so much more: Directors Andrew Arguello and MJ Palo’s Target List has all the fixings of a great movie. Combining a fantastic cast with the witty writing of MJ Palo and John Reizer, whichever way you flip this film, it lands on its feet with feline agility.”

– INDY REVIEWS

The script by Palo with John Reizer, for the most part, rides that perfect balance between its more dramatic moments and perfectly placed moments of humor that never distract. While they’re probably not going to get invited to any big pharma conventions anytime soon, Reizer and Palo have a point, and they make it beautifully.”

“Target List is a great view for anyone who wants a compelling and suspenseful flick with a message that matters.”

– RICHARD PROPES – THE INDEPENDENT CRITIC

Gareth Icke – Derby, England

“Target List had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Not the least because of its believability!

Our film addresses a well-known conspiracy theory within modern medicine that subscribes to the idea that the pharmaceutical industry is willing to hold back and even destroy healthcare inventions and discoveries that might help humanity have a better expression of health for the pursuit of monetary gain.

Thank you, Sandy. It was definitely a special experience for me.

But I’ve never invested in anything in my life before this. And if the circumstances in my life were different with my autistic son (childhood vaccine-injured) maybe my family would be vacationing and doing more things, and I wouldn’t have had the money. But we very rarely even go out to eat let alone travel, so I had the money.

Also, this venture was something that meant something to me personally, given my son was so severely damaged by vaccines. I had an axe to grind with Big Pharma. And investing in the Target List felt like receiving a little bit of justice for my son and our family.

And not to mention justice for the many others who have been destroyed by pharmaceutical poisons.

Additionally, that is always what I have tried to do here on Nofakenews by contributing my thoughts and research. And with that connection here and with John Reizer, I felt an empowering feeling that giving to this project was what I had a calling to do if I was able to. So, I did it. Because it just felt right to me!

But I know you are very devoted here, too. So, I am sure that it felt right to you to give what you could over time as well.

I just watched it again last night for the first time in about six months and had forgotten how good it is. The acting in the movie is impressive, and the original music well written. You should all be proud of your accomplishments, and don’t pay attention to the haters. What have they ever accomplished besides creating negativity?

Thanks Lisa. Making the credits was by accident really. I just believed in the movie and continue to give whenever I can. I am really not a bonified investor. I looked into the opportunity to invest, but the lump sum was just too much at that time.

    Really liked your story.

    “Love” Kenneth’s comment:

“There’s pieces of everyone that was involved whether mentioned or not.”

    AND “Love” Sandy’s comment:

“But everyone is still a part of this.”

I couldn’t agree more. Collective support in just thought alone can move mountains!

Also, congratulations Sandy on making your way to the credits.

    Hahaha! 😆

That’s par for the course on IMDb and other similar platforms. In my opinion, the only thing that was a stinker was the review itself.

I believe that the 40-50 1 and 2-star ratings are made up of people who are in cahoots with the pharmaceutical industry or the competitors of Mad Wife Productions. Mad Wife is the independent movie studio that made Target List, and in that industry, there seem to be many jealous people who downvote each other’s creative works. I think some of the hate for Target List is coming from other independent companies. Movie-making is a bizarre industry.

Whatever the case, the preponderance of votes and ratings, including professional movie journalists who have reviewed the film, have declared Target List a great movie.

Who are the nutters leaving 1and 2-star ratings? And the review you put up on the blog about it being a stinker is hilarious. What movie was he watching. I checked him out on IMDB and he’s only left 3 reviews in his life since 1999, and they all say the same negative things. What a loser.

Great post Kenneth! I know that most all of us here at No Fake News were thinking/praying for the movie. We were all given the opportunity here on the site to be contributors, but not everyone can afford that. But everyone is still a part of this. imho

Thanks, Dr. Reizer, for the update. And thanks to Lisa for her behind-the-scenes story.

I appreciate the contributions you made and the support you gave by writing a review/rating. Reviews and ratings for any work are critical.

John, I wish I could have done more than my small contribution, if just to (thinking just of myself at the moment) see my name somewhere in the credits. hahaha

But NO, the movie itself is an important work for everyone that worked on, in, and for the production. It goes well beyond the writers, producers, actors, and actresses. There’s pieces of everyone that was involved whether mentioned or not.

Everyone deserves a grand round of applause.

    Be Well,
    Kenneth

Wow! That’s awesome and a lifetime ago, Jenny. I wrote Waist Away in 2007-2008 while working at Sherman College. I lost over 80 pounds myself doing that protocol.

It’s funny looking back at how I put the book together. I took pictures of myself before, during, and after the six or seven months I recorded everything.

The Great thing about Waist Away is you never had to do any arduous exercise, and you could eat nearly anything and still lose weight each week.

I am so happy to know the book was helpful to you. Thanks for sharing your story, and thanks for rating Target List! 👍

I never knew the backstory behind your movie. It’s a great viewing experience, and I rated it on IMDb long ago. I am not much for writing movie reviews, but I gave it a high mark, which it deserves.

Years ago, I bought your weight loss book (Waist Away) and lost over 100 pounds in a year. I have kept it off ever since. I think it’s been 15 years. It changed my life, and I see that you are still trying to change people’s lives through filmmaking. Congratulations!

Yes, John, I bet many stories could come out of the making of the Target List. And most likely some very interesting ones!
And that’s from the main players all the way down the line. They all played a pertinent role in this project. An entire crew is crucial in making things come together. And I couldn’t have learned that more than from my daughter. In high school she was the stage manager for many of the school plays. The “crew” was her thing!
It truly does take a team to make things happen!

And I am very glad you enjoyed my little story. My part in it was quite private. It was mostly between me and MJ. So, I wanted share. I wanted people to people to know that I got to do a little bit more than just write a check!

Thanks to MJ, I got to be involved and participate, too! And my timing of becoming involved was of significance in getting the ball rolling!

I am very grateful to have been a part of this fabulous team! 😀

The stuff that went on behind the scenes (and I don’t mean on the movie set) regarding this project is an excellent story itself.

I don’t believe people realize how much effort and energy goes into making a movie, but the process is incredibly involved.

As I have mentioned, we had some incredible odds going against us and plenty of obstacles coming at us from different places. It’s a miracle the damn thing ever got made.

We still have idiots leaving fake reviews and making it difficult for our DVDs to stay in stock. If people knew what we have had to deal with to get this movie out in front of moviegoers, they wouldn’t believe it.

We couldn’t have done it without you, Lisa! 👍

So many people were involved with this film and the pilot production, which was an integral component of producing the feature film.

Look at the credits at the movie’s end, and you will see the whole team needed to pull this thing off.

Target List is my life’s work wrapped up in 100 minutes of cinema, and for that, I will be forever grateful to everyone who worked on the film on set and behind the scenes.

That’s some interesting stuff you shared, Lisa. I was unaware of it until now. 😃

    Thanks again!

    John

John, I started working on the following piece a couple of days ago. I finished it last night and I am ready to share it with you and the Nofakenews visitors.
And I almost put this out this earlier today, but you said you were working on a “movie piece” so I thought to myself, that’s perfect, I’ll wait a little bit longer.

And I even thought about asking you to use this as an article because it pertains to the Target List, but then decided that it was more about my own personal experience. My experience about how I became an Executive Producer on the Target List movie.

But before I begin, I want to express how grateful I am to both you and MJ Palo for making me feel a part of this film.

I have recently been thinking about this investment venture of mine with the Target List movie, and I decided to write a few things down and share my experience about being an executive producer with this project. I guess all the excitement about the DVD triggered my thoughts, and I have been reminiscing. And what I was first reminiscing about was the actor’s auditions for the film. Because I so enjoyed being a part of that process.

MJ had forwarded to me many of the auditions for the Target List. She had asked me to view them, and then give her my opinions on them. And I distinctly remember the audition from Justin Ray. I commented back to MJ, ” Justin is handsome and charming. People will respond to that! Also, he’s a fine actor, with experience. As the reel shows! Justin is definitely one of my favorites!”

And MJ has said that Rachel didn’t audition, but she sent me a website that showed reels of her previous work. I commented back to MJ on these, ” Wow, Rachel is something else. She can act! It will be interesting to see how she does with Justin. Let’s hope there is a chemistry between them.”
(And, wow, there certainly turned out to be a chemistry between them! And it couldn’t get any better!)

It was so great of MJ to send me all those audition reels. That was my favorite part of the process! Also, she had sent me the audition reels other contestants, too. And auditions reels for other roles as well.

Also, it was so great of MJ to keep me updated on everything that was going on with the movie, such as any changes that were happening. Like the addition of a daughter for Donna who had died of cancer, and a horse for Gracie. MJ said that they were going to use her neighbor’s horse in the film.

I had signed up for this movie project before there ever was a script. Although when one was ready, it was promptly sent to me. But, of course, I had already read the spectacular “The Target List” book, and was very familiar with the pilot. I had also contributed to that as well in the past. However, the new Target List had many wonderful changes and additions. And comedy was one of them. I was thrilled about that!

In addition, I was part of a questionnaire where I gave my input on a number of issues concerning the film. One of the questions was on how much I thought the movie should cost? I had answered, maybe $14.99. And I have noticed that on Amazon it sells for $14.99. That is, if they had any in stock! 🤣 I do think that there is something suspicious going on with the lack of DVDs available???

But this entire investing venture began for me while John Reizer was still very much struggling to recover from his ordeal in the hospital. Although I had reached out to MJ by email to begin my investment after I heard that he was making progress. John’s daughter, Kayla, was ever so thoughtful in informing the Nofakenews visitors of his condition.

But, John, knew nothing of what I was doing. However, I had mentioned to him before he became sick that I might be interested in investing.

And when I corresponded with MJ we shared with one another that we both believed that John was strong and would make it through this. And we were right! Our correspondence about it in the following email on 11/04/2021
MJ:” I have been in contact with John’s family and it’s just a horrible, horrible thing to happen. But John’s a fighter and I do believe that he will get through this and be stronger than before.”
Lisa: “Yes, I definitely believe that John is a fighter and will get through this. He has so much to look forward to.”

However, what pushed me more than anything else to contact MJ Palo at that time was my hope of getting the movie moving along to maybe give John an incentive to get better. That is why I didn’t wait until he was out of the hospital. And I wanted to let MJ know as soon as possible. As soon as I believed that there was a chance of John making it.

I had been a regular visitor and a frequent contributor on the Nofakenews website for some time already, and cared very much. And I had come to think of John as my good friend.

Also, MJ later said to me in one of our emails, “We couldn’t have done it without you.” And I cannot tell you how much that meant to me!.

Again, John, I just wanted to share my story of how I came to have my name on the Target List movie as an Executive Producer. Something that I couldn’t be more proud of!!! 😀

Also, I have to add, I think you must have been reading my mind! 🤣

    Lisa
