America deserves better presidential debates in 2024. We have a solid plan to deliver them, and we kicked things off last month! – https://www.c-span.org/video/?533956-1/free-equal-elections-presidential-debate – Our next debate will be in 6-8 weeks and will be a much bigger event, as we’ll have more time to build our coalition and will likely have a household name moderator.
Since 2008, The Free & Equal Elections Foundation has hosted open presidential debates every election cycle for independent and “3rd party” candidates. We’re doing things differently this year.
Our most significant success was in 2012 when we produced an open presidential debate that Larry King moderated. Broadcasters included Al Jazeera, Free Speech TV, ORA TV, Link TV, and C-SPAN. We built a coalition of over 40 supporting organizations to help spread the word, and the audience was estimated at 20 million – enough to trend top 10 on Twitter; Jimmy Kimmel made fun, Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC devoted a segment in support, and the Sunday talk shows all spent a few minutes talking about it.
We gave a slice of America a taste of what could be – candidates with ideas you won’t hear from R’s and D’s and visions for America that deserve to be heard by all. It was admittedly all too little too late, though, as it was held on October 23rd – and by starting Much earlier in the year and producing a whole series of debates, we know we can outdo ourselves this time!
Our ultimate goal is to create severe public awareness for the candidates to be included in the CPD’s debates – or we will continue producing debates in the Fall if they continue to shun candidates outside of the two-party system.
We’re currently building out our coalition to help spread the word organically; we’ll also be involving coalition members in pre and post-debate discussion panels and gathering questions for the candidates from the coalition members – these are the people’s debates, after all! We’d love to have you join our team and help make this year’s debate series a true game-changer!

Hi John,
I’m not sure what to think. You must have approved this but it feels like advertising, albeit for possibly a good thing. Still, it would be nice if Zak had introduced himself to regular No Fake News visitors over time, so we knew more about Free and Equal, like who funds it or where it gets its financing, why we can trust that it is without an agenda, etc. instead it just feels abrupt and nebulous.
Are all these people proposing to run for POTUS? I’m not sure what kind of a chance someone with an axe to grind from the Socialist party, blaming with disdain, everything on America, without acknowledging the huge role played by the Clinton Foundation, for example.
The Free and Equal name sounds Marxist to me, plain and simple. And their website looks awfully woke and expensive to put it bluntly, possibly funded by George Soros, a man who has destroyed indirectly dozens and dozens of Western countries (his stated goal).
I don’t think we need every person with an axe to grind to be in the presidential debates. Talk about a nation divided!

We often get better at doing something the next nine, no guarantee of course. I think the moment we know it’s a surefire thing, that’s when things can become questionable. Resting on our laurels, taking success for granted, that sort of thing.
In the beginning, we are challenging ourselves and everyone around us to make it happen and make it the best that it can be. Against all odds, it would seem!
I wouldn’t doubt the complexity, expense or involvement for a moment, with any large production. I just knew there had to be someone thinking about it or talking about it, so thanks for your candor! 🙂

I have had so much personal satisfaction from the Target List story since 2019. TL represents so much of what I have learned or gone through in my private and professional life!
Rachel Alig commented a while back that she’d like to be involved with a sequel. I am sure it would be challenging to pull off such a project. Even in a small, independent film, the enormity of the expense involved is hard to comprehend. I don’t think a lot of people realize how challenging it was to get the story made into a feature film and then get it distributed on major platforms.
Depending on how well the film performs moving forward, a sequel may or may not be possible. I wouldn’t say I like to use the word never. 🤣
I would love to explore and develop Clyde’s character into a sequel or prequel. I touched on some of his other ideas and inventions that he created before the WAND in the novel.
If I write a new segment of the story, it will be a novel first. Then, who knows where it could go from there?
