I hope you and your family stay safe and warm, John, during the blizzard like conditions across the states. Also, all of those who lie in the path of this nasty storm.
Today in Wisconsin we are having temperatures of -40° with the windshield factor. Some of our plumbing is backing up with the cold pipes. So, my husband put a heating lamp on the pipes in the basement to warm them up earlier today. And the kitchen sink just started gurgling a short time ago. So, that’s a good sign that they’re unclogging.
But, unfortunately, the bitter cold will continue on through the next week.
However, I am very glad that we’re not in the path of the snow and ice. Especially the ice.
We commonly get snow, and that can be a lot to deal with at times, but ice can be wicked! I’m glad we don’t get that too often. Although, it’s usually too cold, so we get snow.
I hope you have a lot of ice melt on hand.
Again, stay warm, and be careful.

We’re gearing up for an ice storm on Sunday. We’re anticipating power outages for several days with extremely low temperatures. I’ve been prepping our home and installing alternative heating sources.
These ice storms are much worse than snow because the ice encases everything, making it a dangerous situation. But we’re preparing for the worst and hopeful for something not that bad.
