   More ridiculousness, John. They have to keep the fear tactic momentum going in some way. Forget the advanced technology, it’s much easier to see balloons in the sky than it is satellites. Apparently, they wanted to be seen!

   Just imagine if there was a secret payload on board that if the balloon was brought down with a ‘pop’ then a chemical (red dust) would spread across the landscape.
   Just imagine…

   Yep, it’s been done in a (once upon a time) 80’s miniseries.
