In early February, I thought of a concept that could be turned into a pretty cool science-fiction story. From that point until recently, I have been writing the novella.
Usually, when I write a short novel, I do so from the seat of my pants, not necessarily knowing where the story is going. But for my latest work, The Pulse, I wrote the skeleton of the story along with its characters and related character personalities before creating the book’s meat.
With each novel I write, I often learn new techniques that hopefully create a better storyline for readers and, on a personal level, a more effective way to express myself as an author.
I didn’t go to school and receive formal training on how to author creative fiction, it’s been a learn-on-the-fly experience for me, a trial-and-error experiment.
I think The Pulse is one of those fictional stories that many people will enjoy because the novella’s underlying message is something humanity is currently dealing with and will continue to have to deal with in the future.
I am excited to share The Pulse with readers later this fall (September 5th). I am pleased with how this short novel turned out and curious how it will be received.
As we get closer to the book’s release date, I will share more detailed information about the project with readers.
Next, I will write the storyboard for the novel’s video book trailer, which I plan to release here on NoFakeNews this summer.
I believe The Pulse has cinematic potential and plan on writing the story’s screenplay later this year just to test the waters.

I suspect, John “The Pulse” novel will be an exciting addition to the brilliant collection you have already written, either way.
But, yeah, unfortunately there is the realism of costs for a production. But nevertheless, it might still be fun for you to play with a script or just dream!

I am excited about this particular story. I feel as though it has that special something about it, and when I was writing The Pulse, I felt it would be an essential addition to my other novellas. We will see how all of that turns out.
In prepping for writing a screenplay, one thing that needs, consideration is the production budget.
The way The Pulse story is written will cost much more to shoot as a movie than Target List did, that’s for sure! 😂
The real challenge will be writing a screenplay adaptation that comes across as intriguing and interesting without blowing through millions of dollars a scene.
Inside the parameters of a novel, budgets are not a thing, but on a production set, budgets are very much so.

Because many of us have been feeling this deadly pulse that surrounds us. And undoubtedly it will not be leaving anytime soon.
