So, let me get this straight: the United States government wants to buy Greenland (an autonomous territory) with Fiat Currency that is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States 🤣

I don’t believe the autonomous territory of Greenland is up for sale, nor will it ever be sold to the United States government. But this subject has been making its way through the news cycles, and many people who follow mainstream media companies and their entertainment essays are pretty worked up about the US wanting to buy Greenland for some good old American greenbacks. You know, those dollars backed by the American government’s full faith and credit. 🤣

The full faith and credit of the US Government means that if the US government tells you that it owes someone one dollar the government has the responsibility to give that individual whatever it says is one dollar.

If you lend the government one dollar and at some point in the future the government decides that a strand of hair is one dollar the government has the legal right to repay the debt by giving you one strand of hair.

US money is nothing more than what the government says it is. This is what is commonly referred to as a fiat currency system!

Our dollar bill is backed by the US government only because of a theoretical promise made by the government.

The US government determines what one dollar is today and the purchasing power of that dollar in the future. As you might have figured out by visiting a grocery store recently, the purchasing power of a dollar is much less than several years ago.

If the government needs more money to buy something, it can produce more strands of hair or grass or whatever the hell it determines a dollar is at any given time.

Each time the government produces another strand of hair out of thin air, it makes all the other hairs already in circulation less valuable, thus lowering all the hairs’ purchasing power.

The prices of things are not getting more expensive; the money in your possession is getting less valuable because its purchasing power is constantly decreasing.

People should be less worried about the not-happening sale of Greenland and more worried about fiat currency scams that are happening realm-wide and in many sovereign countries and territories.
