Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, PA (It looks like a scene out of Fear the Walking Dead)

Dr. John Reizer

I came across the video below a few days ago. It shocked me to see how bad the drug problem is in this Philadelphia community.

It is so sad that human beings have to live like the people in the video — homeless, addicted to drugs, and, waiting to die. What is wrong with the world? It’s rough out there for some souls.

The addiction to drugs and alcohol have been a long time killer of mankind. And if the addiction doesn’t kill it’s victims, it will at least destroy their lives. It takes over them, and they are no longer functional in their family life or in society. And these women on the streets sell themselves for a fix.
And although I have never had to live on the streets, I can attest to the damage that alcoholism can cause in one’s life. But that time in my life has been over for more than 30 years now, and it doesn’t even seem like it was real anymore. And I pride myself in never wanting to touch a drink even when I am feeling down and depressed. I would much prefer a walk in nature or some type of excercise with some music. Also, a good cry or talking with someone is always a big release of tension.
And it does not bother me when others are drinking around me. It just reminds of how stupid acting people can get! Plus, I am a lot more fun and social without alcohol.
But in my youth I was having a hard time and was looking for an escape. And that is what lures people in who are having problems. But you are only going from one prison to another. And it is sad, but many never come out of that prison and might eventually find themselves on the streets or dead. You have to want to!
The controlling powers knew what they were doing when they made drugs and alcohol accessible to the public. And people will get them whether legal or not.
And although there may be many responsible drinkers who are just having a good time or looking to relax, there are probably more who become unhinged when drinking.
Drugs and alcohol are another example of how people are being poisoned and controlled!
    Take back your life!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience with our readers, Lisa.

Addictions of any kind must be a terrible hurdle to overcome in one’s life. Many people do not recover. Your story is the exception to the rule but demonstrates to others that where there is a committed and determined individual, there exists a way out of hell.

Thank you, John, for your kind words. But there are other survivors like myself. Although sadly, probably the minority.
And as they would say in recovery programs, “One day at a time.”

And to end on a happy note,
Happy 4th of July! And may America have many more!
