I began reminiscing about my younger years the other day and some of the great times I experienced growing up in Lakewood, New Jersey.
I played a lot of sports in school and excelled at baseball. But unbeknownst to many of my friends and teammates, I was a closet musician who wrote over 40 songs by my 18th birthday.
My mom, a great musician herself, tried to encourage me to develop the natural musical talent I was gifted with, but being the hard-headed kid I was, I chose to concentrate more on sports and writing stories.
My mom performed and recorded the song below months before she passed away from dementia. I wrote the song for my high school graduation in 1981. My mom played the composition at the graduation ceremony and one of my classmates sang the lyrics.
This was one of the last songs my mom recorded. I never knew she did so until after her passing.
I thought I would share it with everyone.
I miss you, mom! 🙂
